Job Description:

We want to welcome you to restaurant, a distinguished dining establishment known for its exceptional culinary experiences and outstanding service. Located in the heart of Australian Biggest islamic community Lakemba. We offer a diverse menu inspired by Bangladeshi, Indochinese food, emphasizing the freshest ingredients and innovative dishes. We pride ourselves on creating memorable dining experiences in an inviting and warm atmosphere. So, we are seeking chef/s who can help us on our journey and make us better by joining our team. Our commitment to excellence has earned us a loyal customer base and a prominent reputation within the community. Ekush Restaurant is situated on Haldon st in the heart of Lakemba in Sydney NSW. We have captured the exotic flavor from around the world to create an exciting dine-in experience that you will love to make your own.
We mainly focus on offering mouth-watering delicious stir-frys, desserts, curries and high quality food in general. We offer a warm friendly dining environment with a modern bar which makes an ideal venue for any of your special occasions.
Ekush Hospitality Group is seeking applications from experienced and passionate chefs to join our kitchen team in Lakemnba. The ideal candidate will possess a robust culinary background and exhibit creativity, skill, and a strong dedication to enhancing our menu with their expertise. As a vital member of our kitchen team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining our high standards and contributing to the evolution of our culinary offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
  • - Execute all aspects of meal preparation and presentation, maintaining the utmost quality and taste. - Develop and implement seasonal menus, incorporating fresh and local ingredients. - Collaborate with management and kitchen staff to create new recipes and improve existing ones. - Supervise and lead kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to SOPs. - Monitor inventory levels, conduct stocktakes, and coordinate supply orders. - Ensure compliance with hygiene, sanitation, and safety regulations within the kitchen. - Manage food costs and minimize waste while maintaining product quality. - Train, mentor, and develop junior staff, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
  • Qualifications & Skills:
  • - Proven experience as a Chef in a comparable setting. - Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and trends relevant to Bangladeshi, Indochinese food. - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and quality. - Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. - Exceptional time management and organizational abilities. - Certificate III Commercial Cookery.
  • - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management (or equivalent qualification) and higher if applicable, would be given priority.
  • - Minimum 1 year experience in a professional kitchen. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Strong understanding of produce, stock control, culinary techniques and kitchen equipment. - The ability to work in a fast-paced atmosphere. - Complete all work responsibilities and assignments in a timely manner. - Competently cook breakfast, lunch and dinner services - Anticipate and attend to the guest’s dietary and environmental requirements and desires promptly. - Demonstrate superior recipe knowledge for every item on the restaurant’s menus - Ensure full implementation of HACCP code of practice. - Maintain a harmonious relationship with other members. - Maintain high standards and lead by example.

  • We are really looking for someone with the potential for leadership, team management, customer service, outstanding communication skills, self-driven with outstanding managerial skills with minimum of Cert IV in Kitchen Management or higher qualification in the similar stream. As a successful candidate, you will be offered immediate start and on a negotiable salary between 75-77k P/Y + Super. Candidates with Australian citizenship or permanent residency will be preferred but others are welcome to apply. Candidates are encouraged to apply with detailed resume.
